In place of the original L-head six is a 627-hp 454-cu.in. LSX V-8 topped with an intake, custom machined by Pete, to accept a Holley Quick Fuel 1,250-cfm carburetor. The carburetor has been modified as well: sleeved down to 850 cfm to make the fuel delivery less aggressive. Pete's additional custom engine-bay touches include a cowl induction.

The Aero Willys began auspiciously in 1952, as Willys-Overland's first passenger car since World War II. It was good-looking but unusually compact in size when all popular automobiles were.
